VDOT-VT Partnership for Project Scheduling

The VDOT-VT Partnership for Project Scheduling is a research group to support VDOT's activity in project scheduling and develop expertise in establishing, reviewing, and using schedules needed to maintain effective schedule control of projects.

Objectives

  • Develop a database of performance times for completion of different types and/or components of construction projects.
  • Develop standards and codes of practice aimed at improving scheduling and schedule control on projects undertaken by VDOT.
  • Develop mechanisms for schedule performance measurement, early warning of impending schedule slippage and interim sanction for less than satisfactory schedule performance.
  • Institute a mentor based training program to develop a cadre of specialists within VDOT with the skills need to develop and review project schedules, conduct in house training, and serve as specialist advisors.
