Construction Career Fairs

Next Career Fair:

The Fall 2017 Career Fair

will be held October 4th & 5th in the Latham Ballroom at the Inn at Virginia Tech.

The Myers-Lawson School of Construction Career Fair is held twice a year. The Construction Internship and Career Fair provides construction industry and engineering professionals the opportunity to meet students for career employment, summer internships, and co-op opportunities.

Who Should Attend?

  • Any company dealing with construction (residential through commercial, industrial, highway, land development and specialty contractors) and/or civil engineering design should find this career fair worthwhile. Employers who are more interested in design may want to attend the Civil and Environmental Engineering Career Fair.
  • All students interested in working in these areas are invited to submit resumes in advance to Lora Howard at howardl@vt.edu and attend this event. The primary student attendees are from the Department of Building Construction, the Construction Engineering and Management Program in the MLSoC, and Civil & Environmental Engineering.

Career Fair Social Sponsorship Opportunities

A social is held after the exhibitor day for each career fair.  This provides an opportunity for the students and the company representatives to interact in a more relaxed setting and to get to know each other better.  This networking opportunity is invaluable to our students.  The sponsorship opportunities are listed below:

Silver Sponsor $1000- Includes company logo displayed on banner, mention in the advertising flyer for the social and availability of space for company materials to be available to attendees.

Gold Sponsor $2500- Includes company banner to be displayed at the social, company logo on banner, availability of space for company materials to be available to attendees and mention in the advertising flyer.
