Promote alumni careers and industry affiliations through educational, social, and networking opportunites to recent MLSOC Building Construction graduates and current students.  To publicize and develop interest in the Building Construction Department.

                Ron Wakefield/Building Construction Young Alumni Committee Scholarship                  

The Ron Wakefield/Building Construction Young Alumni Committee Scholarship was created in 2006 by The Building Construction Young Alumni Committee to honor Ron Wakefield for his service and dedication to the Building Construction Department and its students.  Throughout Mr. Wakefield’s tenure as a professor at Virginia Tech he consistently portrayed the attributes essential to being successful in the construction industry.  The recipient of this scholarship must portray the same drive, determination and passion for the construction industry.  Additionally the recipient must be actively involved in the community, giving back to people just as Mr. Wakefield gave back to the Building Construction students and department.  Click here for eligibility requirements and application form.
