Deborah Young-Corbett is the principal investigator on a National Institutes of Health Research Project Grant (RO1)In the construction industry, respiratory disease, often leading to
disability or an increased risk of cancer, is a major public health
concern. Studies led by Deborah Young-Corbett, a faculty member in
Virginia Tech researchers and their collaborators from five leading
institutions will soon engage in new construction safety and health
research made possible by a recent award of more than $7 million over a
five-year period from the National Institute for Occupational Safety
and Health (NIOSH)/Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The Constructor's Consortium student organization spent Saturday, October 3rd serving our local community. The group supplied tools, organized, and built a 50 foot wheelchair ramp for the Twigg residence in Montgomery County, Virginia.
