Mission

To create and conduct programs that will grow people for the construction industry in concert with professional associations, while emphasizing our guiding principles of values-based leadership, integrating and sustaining the built environment and excellence in creative learning environments and research.

Vision

To reach into the construction industry an elevate people, while enriching the MLSOC through, faculty development, student support, and special project opportunities. Critical to the success of the program is industry involvement. Several avenues of participation are available to include teaching courses, providing facility and training resources, sponsoring participants and suggesting appropriate offerings.

Program Design

The courses within the program will focus upon personal growth, address the present and evolving needs of the construction industry, complement existing professional programs, educate through an exchange of ideas with both experienced faculty of the school and leaders in the construction industry and teach from a real world perspective.

Program Offerings

One and Two-Day Skills Building Sessions

These short courses will focus on personal growth incorporating value based leadership coupled with the development of a technical skill.

Five-Day New Trends Workshops

These intensive workshops will be designed to bring leaders in the industry up to date on the latest changes in the Construction Industry.

One & Two-Week Professional Development Seminars

These Seminars are designed to meet pressing industry needs, such as formal education for field leaders and managers who will be joined by first and second year college students who are considering a career in the construction industry.

Program Locations

Initially programs will be focused upon the Virginia market with courses offered in Northern Virginia, Richmond, Tidewater and the Virginia Tech Campus.
