Students Place at 2018 Fall ASC Competition in Georgia

38 students, faculty and staff members associated with the Myers-Lawson School of Construction traveled to Peachtree, Georgia to compete at the Fall 2018 Associated Schools of Construction Student Competition. Virginia Tech competition teams included a Heavy Team, Commercial Team, Concrete Team, Design Build Team, Shadow Team and Graduate Team. Kaloudis Wins Aspire! Award

Once a semester at Virginia Tech, five students and one faculty member are recognized with Aspire! awards. Aspire! awards represent Virginia Tech’s five aspirations for student learning. Two Building Construction Beyond Boundaries Scholars recognized.

The Beyond Boundaries Scholars program doubles the impact of qualifying scholarship donations that help underrepresented and high-achieving students.

BC 2044 Students Tour ACME Panel in Radford, VA

Students enrolled in the BC 2044 course toured the ACME Panel in Radford, Virginia. BC 2044 is a second year core class in construction materials. This course teaches students about materials and properties that they’ll be using on the job site. Student Summer Internship Spotlight: Don Riblet

Don Riblet is a senior majoring in Building Construction within the Myers – Lawson School of Construction. This past summer he interned with Kiewit. WayUp, a website for college students and recent grads seeking jobs and internships, listed Kiewit as one of the top 100 places to intern.
