24 students from Myers-Lawson School of construction at Virginia Tech were among the 1200.

The 27th Annual Associated Schools of Construction Regions 6 & 7 Student competition is the largest construction management student competition in the nation. The teams are presented with industry provided problems to solve. Read more about ASC Construction Managment Competition

The Myers-Lawson School of Construction sent three teams of students to compete in the Associated Schools of Construction Region 6&7 national open problem competition in Reno, Nevada last week. The teams were focused in three different aspects of construction – Pre-Construction Services, Concrete and Sustainable Building & LEED and were a mix of CEM and BC students. A sustainable building team, comprised of Virginia Tech construction students and led by Dr. Annie Pearce, visited an Augusta County farm that the owners plan to convert into a summer camp for children with special needs.  The hope is that this summer camp could become the first to be Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)-certified.  Read more about VT Students working with Augusta Farm to create a Special Needs Camp
